Fast food giant KFC has responded to a claim that a Nottingham restaurant had run out of chicken on Monday (April 11). It follows a Facebook post in a community Facebook group by a chicken fan who said: "Apparently Mapperley Top's KFC has no chicken again."
The post about the fried chicken joint, in Woodborough Road, attracted a string of comments including one which said: "It won't be much of a Bargain Bucket with just chips and hand wipes." One man jested: "It’s busy crossing the road."
Someone else said: "I'm ringing the Colonel up." While another commented: "So it’s just KF then." However, as it turns out the drive-thru restaurant hadn't run out of chicken and there were no issues regarding supplies currently. But there had been a hitch and it should be business as normal on Tuesday (April 12), said a KFC spokesperson.

They added: "What a day… yesterday a few technical issues at KFC Mapperley held us up, which meant slightly longer wait times for our delicious fried chicken. We know this isn’t ideal and we’re sorry for the disruption it caused our guests, but the problem has been fixed and we’re back up and frying!"
