Is EQT going on a bit of a games spending spree? This week, the Swedish private equity firm agreed to acquire London-listed video games developer and Fortnite outsourcer Keywords Studios in a £2.2 billion deal.
But Spy also noticed that two weeks ago, the firm’s director, Tom Spicer, registered a new company called “Cluedo Bidco”.
So it’s not just video games, but board games the company is after. Either that, or there’s been a murder in the EQT offices, perhaps by Colonel Mustard with the lead piping, and they can’t figure out whodunit.
