Keylor Navas has been linked with a return to Nottingham Forest this summer amid the Reds' search for a new goalkeeper.
The Costa Rican arrived at the City Ground from Paris Saint-Germain in January after another on-loan shot-stopper, Dean Henderson, picked up what turned out to be a season-ending injury.
Navas played a key role in the Reds' successful survival bid this season. Steve Cooper's side secured their Premier League status for another campaign with a game to spare in 2022/23.
And L'Equipe claim that the Reds are interested in bringing Navas back to the club next season but only for a small fee, with the player having just a year left on his current deal in Paris. However, is is claimed that his high wages may be a stumbling block towards any potential move.

Navas certainly appeared to enjoy his time in Nottingham. In a post on Instagram, the 36-year-old, who won three Champions League titles at Real Madrid, shared a heartfelt message to the Reds faithful at the end of last season.
"I want to thank God for giving me the chance to live such a beautiful experience in Nottingham," he said.
"It has been an unforgettable few months in which I have felt the support of an entire city and in which I have enjoyed every day of my profession and, especially, every game at the City Ground.
"Both the club and the fans deserved to stay in the Premier League and together we have achieved it. Come on you Reds!!!!"
Forest are in talks over a permanent move for Dean Henderson but there has been little movement on that front so Navas may become an alternative.
