Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas has made a surprise transfer admission ahead of returning to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Reds snapped up the experienced shot-stopper in a January loan deal after former number one Dean Henderson suffered an injury.
Signing Navas, a three-times Champions League winner with Real Madrid, was a coup for Steve Cooper and Co, and the 36-year-old has subsequently started the club’s last 10 league games.
The Costa Rican joined PSG in 2019, but has been battling Gianluigi Donnarumma for the number one spot for the last two seasons and had been restricted to just two cup appearances before Forest came calling. Navas will have a year remaining on his deal when he returns to the French giants and has been thinking about his future.

Having rediscovered the feeling of being first choice with Forest, it remains to be seen what Navas will do in the summer. However, he has confessed that one of his ambitions remains to play in Mexico before he retires.
“Mexico has great teams, for me. I would like to play for [Club] América. That’s the truth,” Navas told Paramount + according to Sport Witness .
Navas is not the only Forest loan player set to have a decision to make. Henderson is continuing to recover from his thigh injury and should be back in contention before the end of the season. Cooper will have to decide whether to stick with Navas or restore the Manchester United loanee to the starting XI as Forest prepare for the final run-in.
The Reds are set to see both Navas and Henderson return to their parent clubs at the end of the season. Forest maintaining their Premier League status will be a key component of any future transfer transfer discussions.
The Reds are in the bottom three on goal difference, level on points with Everton in 17th, as they prepare to host Manchester United on Sunday.
