Leeds United face Wolves on Saturday, August 6, but Bruno Lage's side will be without key man Raul Jimenez for their Premier League opener. It's a big blow for Wolves, but a potential boost for Leeds, who will now be facing the Black Country side without their star striker, who picked up a knee injury in their pre-season friendly against Besiktas.
Wolves have provided an official update on Jimenez, with comments from head of performance and medicine, Dr Rob Chakraverty.
“Raul came off in the game against Besiktas after he stretched for the ball and felt something in his knee and his groin," he said. "Scans reveal that he has suffered a medial collateral ligament injury to his knee and a minor strain of his adductor.

"Neither injury is very serious but he is expected to be out for a number of weeks.”
Jimenez has a mixed record when playing against Leeds. In his first appearance against the Whites in October 2020, the striker scored the only goal of the games as Wolves won 1-0 at Elland Road.
His other Elland Road appearance ended in a 1-1 draw last season, while the Mexico international was sent off against Leeds at Molineux in March. Wolves were 2-0 up at the time, but Jimenez's sending off was a major catalyst for Leeds winning the match 3-2 in dramatic fashion.
Leeds face Wolves at Elland Road on August 6, with kick-off at 3pm.
