Following the 3-0 defeat at Wolves, Jamie Carragher slammed the Reds’ “shambolic defending”, Graeme Souness launched a scathing attack on the midfield and Garth Crooks pointed the finger at Darwin Nunez, accusing him of “stage fright”.
So, it seems Jurgen Klopp has no end of problems to solve if Liverpool are to salvage anything from this car crash of a season.
As close to the bottom three as they are to the top four, the Reds are 13 points worse off than at this stage last season, have scored 18 less and conceded ten more.

Even if they were to win their remaining 18 fixtures - and let’s face it, that’s not going to happen - they would still finish with nine points fewer than they amassed in 2021-22.
