Key duo set to return for Leeds Rhinos ahead of huge Wakefield Trinity clash

Liam Sutcliffe and Morgan Gannon look set to make their return to action for Leeds Rhinos this weekend. Both Sutcliffe and Gannon have been named in Rohan Smith's 21-man squad ahead of his first home match in charge of the Super League club, handing the Australian another boost on the selection front.

Sutcliffe has been absent for a prolonged period with a knee injury, but he will hand Smith and Leeds a major boost in the backline after being declared fit to return and be named in the Rhinos' squad to face Wakefield Trinity. Young forward Gannon has completed his suspension and is also available.

Meanwhile, prop Tom Holroyd could also make his first appearance of the new season after also being named in Smith's 21-man squad. It means Leeds have as strong a squad as they have for some time after the likes of Richie Myler and David Fusitu'a returned to action last week in the defeat against Salford Red Devils.

Leeds are still without Jack Walker, Harry Newman, Aidan Sezer, Alex Mellor, Tom Briscoe and Corey Johnson due to injuries, however, while key forward Matt Prior serves the final match of his two-game suspension against Willie Poching's side this coming weekend.

Zak Hardaker is on course to make his first appearance at Headingley as a Leeds player since returning to the club, after coming through last week's game against the Red Devils unscathed.

Meanwhile Trinity, who are now just two points clear of bottom side Toulouse after slipping to defeat in France last weekend, have recalled key half-back Jacob Miller for the game at Headingley which has major ramifications for both sides.

Leeds Rhinos 21-man squad: David Fusitu'a, Liam Sutcliffe, Ash Handley, Blake Austin, Mikolaj Oledzki, Kruise Leeming, James Bentley, Rhyse Martin, Zane Tetevano, Brad Dwyer, Richie Myler, Cameron Smith, Tom Holroyd, Bodene Thompson, Morgan Gannon, Sam Walters, Jack Broadbent, Jarrod O'Connor, James Donaldson, Jack Sinfield, Zak Hardaker.
