The 2022/23 season concluded only last month but focus has already shifted to the next campaign with Chelsea and Arsenal among three English clubs set to battle it out in the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League.
Both London clubs reached the semi-final stage of the competition last term before Emma Hayes' side were defeated by eventual winners Barcelona and the Gunners were knocked out by German outfit Wolfsburg. Chelsea's WSL title win secures their place in the group stages of next season's competition, while Arsenal's third place finish means they will have to enter in the first qualifying round.
England are ranked fourth in the 2022 UEFA women's association coefficients, which is used to allocate places and takes into account performance in European competitions from 2017-18 to 2021–22. The qualification stage is divided into two rounds, Arsenal will enter in the first through the league pathway and Manchester United will enter in the second. Only the Champions from the four highest ranked countries automatically qualify for the group stages.
