Kevon Looney reveals hilarious reason behind Warriors’ ‘[Expletive] you, Draymond’ chant after NBA Finals

After the Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals, Golden State’s roster retreated to the locker room and broke out into a vulgar chant about their own teammate, Draymond Green.

It’s noteworthy because Golden State wing Klay Thompson and coach Steve Kerr both criticized Boston’s fans for their profanity-riddled comments directed toward Green during Game 3. Though Green shrugged it off at the time, the team didn’t forget what happened.

While the chant was assuredly parodying what they heard in Boston, Golden State big Kevon Looney shared another reason why the Warriors chanted the expletive.

Looney, who was initially too bashful to admit what the team was chanting and asked teammate Otto Porter Jr. to say it instead, suggested the team was more willing to make the joke because Green was “yelling” at them all year, as well.

Green is notoriously tough on his teammates. The treatment works for some, but for others, it may push them away. So after spending so much time dealing with Green’s tenacity in practice every day, that chant must have been a nice comedic release to cap off the season.

All things considered, it is objectively hilarious to imagine your teammates chanting “[expletive] you!” after securing your fourth NBA championship.
