The “lazy girl” ideology is the latest workplace trend that’s sweeping TikTok, and “Shark Tank” host Kevin O’Leary gave his take on the matter.
O’Leary posted a video on his X account on Tuesday, August 1 showing excerpts from his appearance on Talk TV discussing the “lazy girl” trend, which has followed the “quiet quitting” trend that started earlier. O’Leary said that it “doesn’t matter” whether employees are practicing the “Lazy Girl” trend because final output is more important in the workplace than the actual time put in.
“Nobody cares how you get it done, or what time you do it in,” O’Leary said.

O'Leary -- whose X video showed that he was in a suit and tie above the waist but in shorts and pink slippers below the waist -- gave the example of a Head of Finance that’s working remotely out of the country and said what’s most important for this theoretical employee is to release the financial statements “on time for compliance."
He added that the output will show when someone is actually lazy, and that’s when it’ll be a problem.
“If you’re just lazy, and you can’t get anything done, I’m going to fire your ass,” O’Leary said.

The Canadian businessman also spoke highly of the many women working in his holding company "Something Wonderful" even as the "lazy girl" trend is targeted towards women.
"Most of my operating positions in my overall holding company are women," O'Leary said. "They live their lives in this new arena the same way men do, except they're incredibly productive -- that's why I hire them."
Whether you're a "Lazy Girl" or a "Quiet Quitter" doesn't matter. The performance on a project basis is what counts. We can accommodate a variety of "new" work habits, as long as the job gets done.
