Kevin Nisbet is feeling optimistic as he aims to boost his chances of a return to the Scotland National Team squad following his recent loan to Aberdeen.
The Millwall striker completed the transfer on Saturday, securing a season-long deal with the Dons and marking his return to Scottish football, which could see him involved against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
At 27, Nisbet is excited about this fresh chapter and knows that stepping up in Bojan Miovski's absence at Aberdeen with goalscoring performances could earn him a spot back in the Scotland team under manager Steve Clarke, especially after the disappointment of being sidelined from Euro 2024 due to injury.
Nisbet left Hibernian last summer for pastures new in the English Championship and has went on to score five goals from 30 appearances. He recently fell down the pecking order, hence his drive to earn regular minutes in the Granite City.

“One of the reasons I came up here was to put myself back in the shop window for the national team," Nisbet stated to Red TV.
“It was a sickener not to make the Euros due to injury and I want to get back there.
“It’s the pinnacle of your career and seeing the Tartan Army signing in their thousands is a great experience.”
The ex-Hibernian talisman has endured a mixed time down in London, with injuries and a change of manager not helping his cause.
Nisbet understands that returning back to the Scottish Premiership should do him the world of good and he is thriving on the prospect of proving some doubters wrong.
“England probably hasn’t gone as well as I planned," he explained.
"It started quite well but then I picked up some injuries and there was a change of manager.
“Sometimes you need a new chapter in your life and now I’m at Aberdeen. I’ve had a lot of doubters over the last year saying I’m injury prone and can’t hack it but that’s football and I don’t look into that.
“I’m focused on trying to prove people wrong and in the mood to do that. I’m confident I can hit the ground running and get off the mark as quick as possible.
“I’m not in my prime yet so hopefully this season I can start scoring goals again.
“If the chances are there I’ll put the ball in the back of the net. I’ll give 110% in every game and every training session. “
