Kevin Nisbet hands Hibs major injury boost as return date targeted after hamstring fear

Hibs star man Kevin Nisbet is primed for a quick-fire return to action after scans on his hamstring allayed long-term injury fears.

The striker almost joined Millwall in a £3million move before the transfer deadline closed but opted to remain in Leith until at least the end of the season but the Scotland international hobbled off during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Ross County in the Highlands. However, there is good news for the Easter Road side with Nisbet poised to return in the coming weeks.

Lee Johnson, speaking to Hibs website, said: "This was the best case scenario as it was the lightest of hamstring strains. Nizzy has shown what a big player he is for us this season and we look forward to having him back playing shortly". Hibs face St Mirren on Saturday but Nisbet is on track to be back in action for a vital run of fixtures as Johnson's side aim to put a wonky run behind them.
