Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is a rising star in the NBA, which has resulted in a signature shoe line with Adidas. The company announced in September that the AE 1 will be released this year, with Dec. 16 as the target date.
Many fans are sure to buy Edwards’s new shoes, but the guard wants Suns star Kevin Durant in particular to wear them after the release.
“KD,” Edwards told Nice Kicks when asked whom he wants to see don his shoes. “Yeah, and he with Nike. I want to see him put on these one time … in the game.”
It‘s not a surprise that Edwards chose Durant, as the fourth-year pro named Durant as his favorite NBA player earlier this year.
However, because Durant is under contract to Nike, he is unlikely to grant Edwards’s wish. The Phoenix forward went as far as to publicly turn down Edwards in a firm social media message.
“Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers,” he said.

Durant first signed with Nike out of college in 2007 and has been with the company ever since. He signed a lifetime contract with Nike earlier this year, showing his commitment to the brand.
