Kevin Durant selects Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins in NBA All-Star draft

After LeBron James used the No. 3 overall pick on Steph Curry in the 2022 NBA All-Star draft, it was time for Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins to come off the board.

With the No. 9 overall selection, captain Kevin Durant added Wiggins to his starting five. With Wiggins on Team Durant, each of Golden State’s two All-Stars will turn from teammates to opponents at the game in Cleveland.

Along with Wiggins, Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid, Memphis guard Ja Morant, Atlanta’s Trae Young and Boston’s Jayson Tatum round out the starting lineup for Team Durant.

Karl Anthony Towns, Devin Booker, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, Kris Middleton, Rudy Gobert and LaMelo Ball were selected as reserves for Team Durant.

The All-Star game will tip-off on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. PT at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
