Kevin Durant has rescinded his trade request and is expected to return to the Brooklyn Nets, which means everyone can finally move on.
As teams awaited a potential Durant trade, many offseason moves were put on hold. But if he is staying in Brooklyn, potential suitors can finally use the cap space they were potentially saving for the blockbuster.
That means free agents, like two-time All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas, can now finally figure out where they will play next season without front offices using a looming KD trade as an excuse to instead kick the tire down the road.
One of the players potentially impacted by the wait is Patrick Beverley. The former first-team All-Defensive guard was recently included in a trade to the Jazz in exchange for Rudy Gobert.
Yal can sit and don’t say nothing but that ain’t cool. It’s dudes with families out here who haven’t got a job because of this KD shit. And to be on and off ain’t cool. Blessing Gang🙏🏾🏀

Beverley tweeted his frustrations about how KD’s trade request made it hard for other players around the league.
He has a point, too. Considering that Utah is expected to enter a rebuilding phase and soon trade Donovan Mitchell as well, Beverley will likely have to find a new home before the upcoming season begins. He is a potential target for the Lakers, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Durant’s trade request, without a doubt, put the league on pause. Beverley was just saying the quiet part loud when he posted his message on Twitter.
#BLAMEKD https://t.co/BiRhf4nFyr

Within fifteen minutes of Beverley’s tweet, however, Durant responded: #BLAMEKD.
Durant is one of the most prominent tweeters in the history of pro sports, so it’s never surprising when he gets active with replies. Beverley, though, is not one down to back down from anything.
So, seven minutes after Durant’s response, Beverley tweeted yet again.
Damn gang who said I was talking about u. I’m speaking of how it was done. Both sides need keep that private. But noted📝 https://t.co/5T9ITP2Ka2

So, unfortunately, this is where Beverley lost me. He tried to pull the ole’ “who said I was talking about u” card, and it was a wild decision.
Beverley specifically mentioned KD in his initial tweet, so uhhhh, it’s very unlikely that he was writing about a different KD.
Durant and Beverley have a spicy past as both players got ejected after a scuffle during the 2019 postseason. Durant has also reacted to Beverley’s controversial tweets before.
