Kevin Durant praises Chet Holmgren: ‘He’s gonna be a problem.”

It sounds like Kevin Durant is a big fan of Chet Holmgren.

From arguably the greatest slender 6-foot-10-plus basketball player, Durant seems a big fan of Holmgren. The two spent time in the gym working out together this summer before Holmgren suffered a season-ending foot injury.

On his latest episode of The ETCs show, the Brooklyn Nets star praised Holmgren after playing with him this past offseason and declared he’ll be a problem in the future once he fully recovers from his Lisfranc injury.

“He’s gonna be a problem, too. I just love the skill these bigs they got coming in from Chet to Paolo. … Having an opportunity to be in the gym with Chet, his feel for the game — he got a natural feel. And it’s rare you get somebody that tall with a natural feel for the game. He loves to play (and) compete. He wants to get better. He wants to soak up information from guys that have experienced more than he has. It’s cool being in the gym with him. It’s different when you get up close with these dudes in an environment — not in an NBA gym but a summer rec league gym. You see the real true core of who they are in that space. It was good to vibe with him.”

Hearing this praise from Durant could cause mixed emotions from the Thunder fan base. The former MVP’s public opinion in Oklahoma City is still a controversial one six years after he left the team for the Golden State Warriors.

Regardless of personal feelings, Durant is one of the greatest players in basketball history, so it’s definitely a ringing endorsement to hear him be a huge fan of Holmgren.
