Suns star Kevin Durant recently shared his perspective on former Warriors teammate Draymond Green’s indefinite suspension.
Durant, who sat out of Phoenix’s 119—116 win over Golden State on Tuesday, called Green’s Flagrant 2 foul “insane to see” and echoed the words of Suns’ Jusuf Nurkić, saying he hopes Green “gets the help he needs.”
At the same time, Durant made a point of mentioning that Green had never “been that way” back when the two played together on Golden State for three seasons from 2016 to ’19.
Durant said after the Suns’ game on Wednesday, “That was insane to see. Glad Nurk is alright. Never seen that before on the basketball court in an NBA game. I hope Draymond gets the help he needs. … I know Draymond and that’s not—he hasn’t been that way when I was around him and coming into the league. So hopefully, he gets the help he needs to get back on the court and put all this stuff behind him.”

Durant and Green locked horns more than a few times during their time on the Warriors, including one heated spat in a 2018 loss to the Clippers that factored into Durant’s decision to leave Golden State the following summer.
Several years removed from his Warriors’ stint, Durant appears to harbor nothing but goodwill toward his former teammate and hopes Green can return to the court in due time.
Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA following his ejection in the Suns game, which marked his third of the season and 19th of his career.
