De Bruyne compared to Premier League greats
City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been compared to Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard after his side beat Manchester United 4-1. De Bruyne took the captain's armband on Sunday and grabbed a first-half brace to give City a 2-1 lead going into half-time, before Riyad Mahrez also scored twice in the second half as the Blues strolled to a comfortable victory.
Speaking on Sky Sports post-match, Jamie Redknapp placed the Belgian among some of the best midfielders in Premier League history. He explained: "We talk about elite players. If you’re a City fan you get a masterclass each week.

Guardiola on derby turning point
City manager Pep Guardiola has praised his team's performance in the second half of their clash with United. Jadon Sancho cancelled out De Bruyne's early strike and United threatened to take a grip on the game before they were utterly dominated after the break.
City found their rhythm, refused to give their opponents any possession and added another two goals to the scoreline to finish with an emphatic 4-1 win. Guardiola pointed to the patience that his players showed in the second half - particularly in building from the back with John Stones, Aymeric Laporte and Ederson - that allowed them to cruise to victory.
