KEVIN Bridges has been thanked after making a £20,000 donation to Scottish children’s hospices.
The Scots comic announced he would be donating to causes across Clydebank and Greater Glasgow in a post on social media late last week.
"I’m very proud to be supporting them. You can support them as well, it doesn’t even need to be a donation, it can just be a wee follow,” Bridges said in a video on Instagram.
"Read about the great work that they are doing in a world where the pricks reign supreme at the minute. It is good for the soul to know that these people are out there helping the vulnerable members of their communities."
As well as a donation to Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), Bridges said he would be supporting West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare, Y Sort It, Bags Full of Love West Dunbartonshire, Improving Lives, Launch Foods, and the DRC Youth Project.
CHAS has now thanked Bridges for the "generous" gift and revealed that he made a personal donation of £20,000.
Charity chief executive Rami Okasha said: “Kevin has visited our children’s hospice, Robin House at Balloch several times over the years and his ongoing support is hugely appreciated.
“Each week in Scotland three children die from an incurable condition and CHAS can only be there for families with the support of kind donations like this. No one should have to face the death of a child alone and we provide unwavering care to children who may die young and their families, at every step on this hardest of journeys.
“Fundraising support makes a huge difference to children and families helping us to reach every family across Scotland who needs our care.”
And Bridges said: “As parents ourselves now, the hearts of my wife and I go out more than ever to everyone at Robin House [in Balloch], Rachel House [in Kinross], and all the children and families supported by CHAS services across Scotland.”
Last week, it was revealed that Bridges had donated £30,000 to the West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare, and youth charity Y Sort It was gifted £10,000.
