Kerry Katona struggling to get passport after sharing plans to quit UK

Kerry Katona has shared her frustration at being unable to get a passport after announcing plans to quit the UK with her family.

The former Atomic Kitten singer thinks she and her family could have a "nice life" in Spain. Writing in her new! column, she said: "[Moving to Spain] is something Ryan and I are looking into.

"We are likely to do another 12 months in the UK, and my mum will have a base here so whenever I come back that will be where we stay."

However on Thursday, the mum-of-five took to Instagram to vent about passport problems. Sharing a snap of herself looking extremely unimpressed, she said she "cannot get a passport appointment".

The star also asked for "help". Her frustration is shared by many, as the Passport Office continues to report waits of up to 10 weeks for a first or replacement passport.

Prior to the covid pandemic, people were advised of waits of around three weeks. Last week, Home Office minister Kevin Foster said his advice remains unchanged and anyone heading overseas this summer should submit new passport applications and renewals as soon as possible.

HM Passports says it processed a record of more than one million passports in March.
