Kerry Katona's on stage injury as daughter steps in to 'save show'

Former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona suffered a nasty injury on stage last week and was forced to pull out of one of her final panto performances in Nottinghamshire's neighbouring city of Lincoln. The 42-year-old fell on stage and was forced to take a back seat for the show. Luckily, her daughter quickly stepped into her shoes.

The singer and former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, winner was starring in the seasonal show as ugly sister Botox. However, on Saturday, January 7, after she fell on stage and twisted her ankle mid-performance, the mother-of-five had to pass the panto role to 19 year-old daughter Lilly to ensure the 'show went on'.

Kerry told her followers on Instagram: "Just fell and rolled my ankle!! In the middle of a show!!!" She then shared a video taking in the green room.

As Kerry rested with her leg up, she spoke about the painful accident and her understudy. Full of pride and praise for her daughter, she said: "I've really hurt my foot. Our Lilly went on as my understudy."

Lilly had been starring alongside her mum as Baby Botox in the show. Indicating the laughter coming from the audience, Kerry said: "She's up there, listen to the laughs she's getting. She's done amazing."

Kerry said she was "gutted" to miss the performance. "I can't go on because there's nine costume changes and I practically live on that stage," she explained. And she added admiringly about Lilly: "I'm so proud of our Lilly. She went out there as me and did it like that. I think I might be out of a job."

Over on her Instagram Lilly, whose father is former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, said: "Stepping in with five minutes' notice was scary but I couldn't have done it without my panto fam." And she shared a picture of herself in her elaborate costume with her co-star.

Kerry, who was previously reported by Manchester Evening News as she showed off a fake set of breasts that she's been sporting for her role, smiled into the camera as she greeted fans in a video from backstage shared on her Instagram and, wearing a purple vest top over her padded bra she explained that her "really big" chest wasn't real.

"Before you all say anything, I've got a fake bra on and it's full of padding that makes me look really big," she said. "It's fake and I've got a fake bum on."
