Kerry Katona reveals heartache after daughter told her she 'didn't want to be here'

Kerry Katona has opened up about the painful moment her daughter Heidi told her she 'didn't want to be here'.

The star, 41, who shares the teen with her ex Max Croft, says she was heartbroken when she realised the extent of her daughter's anxiety.

The mum-of-five revealed she felt "completely helpless", adding: "it broke my heart and I cried my eyes out."

Writing in her column for new!, Kerry referenced Christine McGuinness' nine-year-old daughter Penelope, who told her mum she didn't want to live during the pandemic.

Stating the story was 'absolutely heartbreaking", Kerry said: "I don’t think the pandemic had that much of an effect on my children in that sense, but Heidi suffers with anxiety and a lack of self-confidence in general. And she has got to a point where she’s spoken like that. She once sat on her bed and told me she didn’t want to be here any more."

Despite the devastating admission, Kerry said she was pleased her daughter could be open with her, also revealing the teen has grief counselling at school because she "struggled" after the star's ex George Kay died.

Kerry shares daughter Dylan Jorge with the former rugby league player, 39, who tragically died in 2019 after a cocaine overdose..

Stressing mental health was a "very real thing", Kerry revealed her own anxiety is "through the roof", admitting she's been to the doctor to ask for help.

Last year she declared she used to get called "the English Britney Spears" after suffering a highly public breakdown.

Since first entering the spotlight with girl group Atomic Kitten in the late 90s, Kerry has never strayed far from the public limelight.

After leaving the band in 2001, the Warrington born star found major fame as a media personality over the years - attracting attention in her personal life as she battled some intense battles and struggled with her mental health throughout the 00s.

"I used to get called the English Britney Spears back in the day," the mum-of-five told The Daily Star when looking back on that era of her life.

"I know what it's like to have a breakdown. I know what it's like to beat rock bottom," she adds.

However she's got a number of media gigs under her belt, including a lucrative OnlyFans page.

Kerry is said to be doing very nicely from the racy content site having said she's already made a £1 million for her efforts.
