Kerry Katona 'over the moon' about ex-husband Brian McFadden's baby news

Kerry Katona said she is "over the moon" for her ex-husband Brian McFadden and his new fiance following their baby news.

Dubliner and former Westlife singer Brian announced he and his fiancée Danielle Parkinson are expecting their first child together last month.

Sending her congratulations to the pair on the news, Kerry, who was married to the star from 2002 until 2006, said she ‘adores’ Danielle and credited her for already being 'a great stepmother' to the daughters she shares with Brian.

Writing in her weekly column for New! magazine, the 40-year-old said: "I'm absolutely over the moon for my ex Brian and his fiancée Danielle after announcing their lovely baby news.

"They've really struggled over the years.

"I absolutely adore Danielle – she’s going to make a wonderful mum.

“She’s a great stepmother to my children Molly and Lilly."

The supportive ex and mother-of-four added that she has already sent Brian and Danielle a present to celebrate their happy news.

"I bought them a baby grow and Brian sent me a picture of his head on it to say thank you.

"When you have a baby with someone you love, it’s always a wonderful thing."

Brian and Danielle described their pregnancy as a "miracle" when they announced the news, opening up about having previously suffered two miscarriages in the past.

Speaking to OK! magazine, PE teacher Danielle said: "It does [feel like a miracle] but I feel awful saying that, as I've had so many messages on Instagram.

"We're due on 14 May. But they said normally with your first baby it can be early," she said.

“The IVF community is so lovely and I’ve heard real traumatic stories from people who have been trying for 10 years, people who have had eight-plus miscarriages, so I feel we got lucky on our third attempt."
