Kerry Katona has revealed her hopes to reunite with her Atomic Kitten bandmates once again.
The mum-of-five, 42, says she hopes it 'doesn't take something tragic' to see her, Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon and her replacement Jenny Frost take to the stage together again, as she reflects on the remaining members of Girls Aloud reuniting to pay tribute the late Sarah Harding.
Cheryl was supported by ex-boyfriend and father of her son Liam Payne on Saturday night [October 8], as she, Nadine Coyle, 37, Nicola Roberts , 37, and Kimberley Walsh, 40 hosted a charity fundraiser in honour their late bandmate, who tragically died of breast cancer aged 39 in September last year.
The four singers decided against performing together, as it wouldn't 'feel right without Sarah', but have launched a pyjama collection with Primark to raise money for cancer charities - something Kerry describes as a fitting and 'lovely' tribute to the late star and a great way to keep her memory alive.
"Girls Aloud have reunited in honour of their late bandmate Sarah Harding to launch a charity pyjama collection with Primark, to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month," Kerry writes in her latest column for OK! magazine.
"What a lovely idea. It’s so important to keep her memory alive. Sarah’s passing and the way the girls have come together always makes me think about Atomic Kitten and my relationship with those girls.
"I really hope it doesn’t take something so tragic to bring us all back together. Life is too short."
Kerry was a founding member of Atomic Kitten at the age of 18 in 1999, alongside Liz and Natasha, but originally left the band several days before the release of their hit single Whole Again to give birth to her first child with ex-husband Brian McFadden.
She was replaced by Jenny Frost and Whole Again was re-recorded and achieved critical and commercial success. Kerry rejoined the band again in November 2012, after appearing on an ITV2 series alongside her bandmates, but left once again shortly afterwards.
Last year, Kerry expressed her upset as Liz, Natasha and Jenny all confirmed they would be going on tour once again without her to support boyband Blue for their 20th anniversary concerts in September and October 2022.
The trio said at the time: "Wow, what can we say... We are going on tour with @officialblue after all these years and we are beyond excited to be back together.
"We are going to have so much fun and can’t wait to bring back all the nostalgia to all those who have supported us throughout the years. 2022 is set to be an incredible year.”
Kerry responded to Atomic Kitten's exciting news in her OK! magazine column, saying she 'was gutted not to be involved' but really happy for the girls.
"I was never asked to be part of it – I don't know why! I get the feeling they don't like me," she added when writing last year.
