Kerry Katona feels like she's 'failed as a mum' as she breaks down over kids' bullying

Kerry Katona said she feels like she "failed as a mum" as she opened up about her children getting bullied.

The former Atomic Kitten singer revealed that her children had received abuse online and face-to-face.

"My children have been hit, they’ve had abuse face to face, they’ve had a lot of it online. It’s heart-breaking…" she said to Steph McGovern on Steph's Packed Lunch.

The 41-year-old went on to say that she feels helpless when her children get bullied.

"I feel to blame because the bullying is because of who their parent is. So that all makes me feel a failure as a mum," Kerry continued

“It’s not fair that my kids are getting insults because of my mistakes. I’ve accepted my mistakes, but it’s not fair that my children are still getting it."

Her 18-year-old daughter Lilly says that the abuse "genuinely enrages" her and went on to add that she's seen her mum "bawling her eyes out" over it.

Kerry recently opened up about her daughter Heidi being tormented by bullies at school.

She said that her 14-year-old was 'struggling at the end of the school year' as she was being targeted by other teenagers.

Kerry enrolled Heidi into private education due to an improvement in her finances and it seems to be a positive change for her daughter.

The ex chart-topper says that since the school move she has noticed a big change in Heidi and that has left proud mum Kerry "so pleased."

Writing in new! magazine, Kerry said: "Heidi really struggled at the end of the school year, before summer. She was being bullied.

"We also moved house and she had to say goodbye to a lot of friends. She's 14 and its a tough age. She felt down on life - everything was negative. I felt she'd lost her spark.

"But a week into her new school, she seems so excited. I can see that spark in her face again and I'm so pleased."

Heidi's sisters Molly, 20, and Lilly-Sue, who Kerry shares with Brian McFadden, went to the school that Heidi is now going to.

Kerry's youngest child Dylan-Jorge, seven, who she shared with late husband Mark Croft, currently goes there.

Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4 and All 4*
