Kerry GAA legend Mick O'Dwyer, 86, marries for a second time in small wedding to Tyrone woman

Kerry GAA icon Mick O'Dwyer has lived up to the mantra that age is just a number this week as he married for the second time in his life at the tender age of 86.

The most successful GAA manager of all-time tied the knot at the Civil Registry Office in Killarney on Friday, according to the Irish Times.

O'Dwyer, who won four All-Ireland football titles as a player with Kerry and eight as the Kingdom's manager, married Tyrone woman Geraldine Shields.

It's reported that the intimate reception took place at the Great Southern Hotel in the town.

The couple have known each other for many years and will live in Waterville, Co Kerry as man and wife.

Geraldine Shields is a grandmother from Tyrone and she looked glamourous in a white gown while Micko donned a sharp navy suit for the happy occasion.

Micko's first wife, Mary Carmel, died in 2012. The couple had been married for 50 years at that point. Mary Carmel ran a well-known pub, hotel and garage in Waterville.

O'Dwyer last managed at senior intercounty level in 2014 when he retired after a role with the Clare footballers. As well as leading Kerry to eight All-Ireland senior football titles as manager, he also had stints with Kildare, Wicklow and Laois who he led to a Leinster glory in 2003 and 2004.
