Wayanad: Three people died and three others of a family were injured in a collision between their car and a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Scania bus bound for Bangalore at old Vythiri, near Kalpetta, on Sunday.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as Amina Kutty (46) and her two sons, Adhil Ummer (14) and Ameer Ummer (22). Ameena's husband Ummer and other two children, Abdulla Ummer and Ashana, have been hospitalised at Meppadi and Kozhikode hospitals. The family hails from Kuzhimanna, near Kondotty in Malappuram district, and the seriously injured Abdulla Ummer was shifted to Kozhikode Medical College hospital after receiving first aid from Meppadi hospital.
The incident took place around 0600 hrs. The family was returning from Mysore to Malappuram in their car, and the KSRTC bus was proceeding to Bangalore from Thiruvananthapuram. Reports said Ummer, who was driving the car, lost control and rammed into the bus.
Vythiri police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the nearby hospitals at Kainatty General Hospital and Meppadi Private Hospital. The impact of the collision led to the deaths of three people, and their bodies were brought to the hospital, hospital sources said.
