Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has thanked some of the behind-the-scenes staff for their work at the club this season. Cooper specifically reserved his gratitude to Whites physio’s Rob Price and Henry McStay, in what has been a nightmare of a campaign in the treatment room.
Leeds secured their survival in the Premier League on a dramatic day of action with a 2-1 win at Brentford, moving above Burnley after their defeat against Newcastle United. It has been a season of struggle in the main for Leeds this season, with the club’s relentless injury situation continuing right up until yesterday’s game.
Patrick Bamford – who has missed the majority of the season with injury – was due to return against the Bees, but he tested positive for Covid just a couple of days earlier. Several key players have also missed large portions of the season through injury, with Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper and Robin Koch all spending several months on the sidelines.

In fact, the only player who has been involved in every game this season is goalkeeper Illan Meslier, which shows how difficult it has been. And after McStay posted on Twitter about how proud of the club he is following such a tough season, Cooper was quick to respond on Twitter to express his gratitude for the work the staff have put in during some very difficult times.
He said: “Massive credit to you and Rob and the staff! Not been a pleasant place at times that treatment room. But you kept us going. Put some perspective on the situation and lifted us on numerous occasions. Thank you.”
