Kenya's Ruto bids farewell to Haiti bound-police officers

Kenya's President William Ruto bids a ceremonial farewell to hundreds of police officers assigned to a UN-backed mission in Haiti. The country volunteered to lead an international force to tackle violence in the Caribbean nation, where gangs control most of the capital Port-au-Prince and have carried out widespread killings, kidnappings and sexual violence. 

Also, EU countries slap sanctions on six people over the war between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that has engulfed Sudan.

Finally, negotiations to form a South African cabinet have hit a wall amid disagreements between the African National Congress and the largest opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, over how to share power.
