Kenny Miller reveals Rangers gripe as he dissects derby with Callum McGregor 'bullet dodged' claim

Kenny Miller insists there was more to dissect from the Old Firm as he gave his ultimate view on Alfredo Morelos' disallowed goal.

The former Ibrox hitman knows how it feels to play for both sides of the Glasgow divide but one game that still irks him is the 2016 Scottish Cup Final when Rangers lost to a Hibs side who made history. The pundit, in reacting to Morelos' tussle with Alistair Johnston that led to the Ibrox outfit writing to the SFA, believes if VAR had been around seven years ago Anthony Stokes' infamous header would've been chalked off for a 'nudge'.

Miller contends that the call on Morelos was 'soft and harsh' but raised another flashpoint he believes hasn't been discussed. He pointed to Celtic captain Callum McGregor's foul on Todd Cantwell in the early stages of the 3-2 thriller and insists the Scotland international got away with it because he 'had the armband on'.

He told Open Goal: "We're saying 'push', it's maybe a 'nudge'. (by Morelos) By the way, we go back to 2016. There's a 'nudge' on James Tavernier for Stokes' header in the Cup final. That's a nudge, and we never had VAR back then.

"But it's soft and it was harsh. I think Callum McGregor dodged a bullet early on the counter-attack when he brings Cantwell down and doesn't get booked. I think because you've got the armband on and it's early, you get away with it."
