Kenny Miller digs up Hibs 'nudge' from Rangers Scottish Cup final

Alfredo Morelos' tussle with Celtic's Alistair Johnston has been the major talking point from Saturday's Old Firm derby.

The Rangers striker was penalised for a foul on the defender by referee Kevin Clancy after poking the ball past Joe Hart.

VAR concluded that the awarded foul was the correct decision by the on-field official, as the game remained 0-0.

However, many pundits, fans, and former referees have spoken out about their bafflement at the decision in the aftermath of the game.

Kenny Miller is one of those who couldn't believe that a foul was given in favour of Celtic for the incident.

And the ex-Scotland & Gers striker rolled back the years to point out what he believes was a similar incident that wasn't given in the 2016 Scottish Cup final between Hibs and Rangers.

Referring to Anthony Stokes' headed equaliser in the epic 3-2 encounter at Hampden, Miller told Open Goal: "We're saying 'push', it's maybe a 'nudge'.

"By the way, we go back to 2016. There's a 'nudge' on James Tavernier for Stokes' header in the Cup final. That's a nudge, and we never had VAR back then.

"But it's soft and it was harsh. I think Callum McGregor dodged a bullet early on the counter-attack when he brings Cantwell down and doesn't get booked. I think because you've got the armband on and it's early, you get away with it."
