Norwich midfielder Kenny McLean is reportedly a Rangers transfer option in January with the Light Blues considering a pre-contract offer.
The former Aberdeen star previously hinted he would love to play for his boyhood heroes one day with his current Canaries deal expiring in the summer. McLean is a regular at the English Premier League promotion hopefuls but at 30 years old the Scotland cap may be tempted for a move back to the Scottish Premiership.
Scottish Express Sport claim Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his recruitment team are willing to table a contract for McLean, who was once in the club's youth system before joining St Mirren as a teenager. He previously told The Athletic that a Ibrox return would be special to him. "I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t something I’d want to do" he said. "As a kid that’s what you want to do, play for your boyhood team.
"Right now, I’m about to play in the Premier League again, so I’m not thinking about it! But for me and my family, it would be pretty special.
“I grew up a Rangers fan, used to go to the games with my dad and as a kid in Glasgow, you support Rangers or Celtic and you want to play for one of them. So, I was on the better side.”
