Kenny Dalglish makes Celtic 'nuisance' claim over Ange Postecoglou Premier League links

Kenny Dalglish believes it is a "nuisance" and a "pain" for Ange Postecoglou and Celtic when he is constantly linked with jobs in England.

The Parkhead manager has been heavily touted for the managerial vacancy at Leeds United after Jesse Marsch was sacked following a poor run of results left the Yorkshire club just above the relegation zone. A number of managers have ruled themselves out of the running for the post which has increased the speculation that the Australian could be tempted down south. The Leeds job is not the only one that Postecoglou has been linked with since taking over in the east end of Glasgow around 18 months ago.

Just last month he was linked with the Everton hot seat after Frank Lampard was given his marching orders, while Southampton were on the look out for a new boss when Ralph Hasenhuttl was sacked in November - and the south coast club are again on the hunt for a gaffer after his successor Nathan Jones was axed. However, Celtic and Scotland legend Dalglish believes Postecoglou won't leave half way through the season.

He wrote in the Sunday Post: "Ange Postecoglou has dominated the sporting headlines all week. The Celtic boss has been strongly linked with the Leeds United job since they sacked Jesse Marsch last Monday. It seems like Ange is now linked with every job that becomes available in the English Premier League.

"A few weeks ago it was Everton. Before that it was Southampton. And I think he was also tipped for the Wolves job a few months ago. In some ways, it’s a compliment that the excellent work he is doing at Celtic is getting noticed. But in other ways, it must be an absolute nuisance for him and his football club. It’s an intrusion, a pain.

"You do not want to be pestered every time a job in the English top flight comes up. However, I wouldn’t be in a panic about it if I was part of the Celtic hierarchy, or a supporter. I can’t see him leaving in mid-season."
