Kenny Dalglish hints at Celtic transfer incomings as he launches Joe Hart defence

Kenny Dalglish has hinted at further Celtic signings this summer transfer window.

The Hoops have plenty of cash to spend after landing a bumper £25million fee for winger Jota earlier this window.

Rodgers was also given assurances that he has big kitty to spend this summer as he looks to build his Celtic squad into a European force.

Dalglish reckons more transfers are to come for his former side as they look to continue on the domestic dominance set by Ange Postecoglou last season.

He wrote in the Sunday Post: "The two new players from South Korea, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Yang Hyun-jun, are on board and they arrive with promising pedigrees.

"If they can show the same kind of standards as the Japanese players such Kyogo, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda then Brendan will be thrilled. Brendan's squad is taking shape but I think he will be looking to add at least two more top-quality operators. I'm sure he will feel there is still work to be done on bringing new players into the building."

Dalglish has also defended goalkeeper Joe Hart who suffered a slip up during a pre-season clash against Yokohama F. Marinos. His error cost a goal, but Dalglsih wants the Hoops support to get behind him.

He explained: "Joe Hart's position as Celtic's number one appears to be under scrutiny. It's two weeks until the competitive season gets under way for Celtic and this period is all about fitness for players and managers trying new things.

"Joe also had a makeshift defence in front or him on Wednesday and that is never helpful. But it's almost as if some people can't wait to have a pop at him.

"Sure. everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it's always better to have a balanced view when sharing your thoughts. Overall, Joe has been brilliant in his two years at the club. On the park, he played a huge role as Ange Postecoglou clinched five domestic trophies. Off the park, he has been a positive influence on a day-to-day basis. His leadership qualities are superb.

"It could well be that Brendan is looking for a new goalkeeper and he is entitled to do so. Managers and recruitment departments are always looking to improve on what they have.

"That's only natural and correct. Let's trust the manager's judgment on that one. But I would not have a problem if Joe was the first-choice keeper for the new season."
