Kendrick Lamar Wins Song Of The Year At Grammy Awards

Grammy award

Kendrick Lamar has added another prestigious award to his collection by winning the song of the year for his track “Not Like Us” at the 2025 Grammy Awards. This victory comes shortly after he also secured the record of the year award for the same song, which marked the culmination of a highly publicized rap feud with Drake.

During his acceptance speech, Lamar expressed his deep appreciation for rap music, emphasizing its enduring power and cultural significance. He paid tribute to West Coast artists and asserted the lasting impact of the genre, stating, “We are the culture. It’s going to always stay here forever.”

The award was presented to Lamar by Diana Ross, to whom he showed reverence by miming a bow. Overwhelmed by the moment, Lamar admitted, “I’m starstruck,” before offering words of wisdom to aspiring young rappers, urging them to respect the art form.

With an impressive track record in the music industry, Lamar has already amassed 17 Grammy Awards, solidifying his status as one of the greatest rappers of his generation. His surprise album “GNX” debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2024, with five of its singles dominating the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

Looking ahead, Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans next weekend. This will mark his second appearance on the prestigious stage, following his memorable performance in 2022 alongside Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.
