Happy Monday, friends! The air is crisp, the weather is fine (in Sydney at least, unsure about everyone else), and the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show performer has been announced and he is a top notch choice: Mr Kendrick Lamar.
Nope, this isn’t just a sketchy rumour from sketchy sources of a sketchy blog, we’ve gotten the tea straight from the horse’s mouth via an announcement video.
Here’s everything we know about the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Who is performing at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show?
Iconic rapper Kendrick Lamar confirmed the announcement with a promotional video in which he appears before a giant American flag on the football field.
“My name’s Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl LIX,” he says. “Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos.”

In a press statement, Lamar said, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
The performance will feature creative direction from Lamar’s company with Dave Free, pgLang.
Diversified Production Services is producing the halftime show telecast with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Jesse Collins as executive producers, while Hamish Hamilton will serve as director, and Roc Nation also serving “as the strategic entertainment advisor of the live performance.”

Given that Apple Music is the halftime show’s official sponsor, 2025 Super Bowl will be formally known as the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.
Meanwhile, rap big dog Jay-Z has heralded the Super Bowl’s choice for its 2025 performer.
“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Jay-Z stated.
“His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Lamar is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage, having performed in the 2022 hip-hop-forward show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, and Anderson .Paak.

Super Bowl LIX will go down in New Orleans, on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
