There are tons of trends out there, which is nothing new. What is unique is that some of the latest fads appear to have spun off other crazes, creating offspring that often usurp the original. Take cottagecore and the coquette aesthetic. The former offers more of a living on a farm in the countryside vibe where linens and small floral prints are the preferred wardrobe. Coquette is far more flirty looking to entice with charming baubles and bows. (If the movement had a flag-bearer, it would be Simone Rocha.) Fortunately, if you favor the latter, there's a new collaboration to fulfill your fantasy.
Kendra Scott x LoveShackFancy is coquette in jewelry form. The collab has a real vintage feel with everything from earrings to necklaces to bracelets adorned with the obligatory hearts and bows. The collection is the brainchild of jeweler Kendra Scott and Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder and creative director of LoveShackFancy, who wanted to create a line that "delights in soft details and feminine flourishes, with hand-illustrated floral motifs, vintage-inspired patterns, and gold-plated bow adornments."
Prices range from $65 for a sweet pair of stud earrings to $150 for ones that make a bit more of a statement. Making it easy to overindulge. How you style these gems is up to you, though. So far there's no such thing as too much coquette so feel free to use the pieces to polish off a super frilly dress. Go ahead and wear all of the necklaces at once like an expert Instagirl. Or, for those still riding the quiet luxury train, just flaunt the charm bracelet with a basic white T-shirt and jeans.
We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the entire collection is currently sold out on Kendra Scott's website. The good news? A few pieces are still available via LoveShackFancy's website. You can also find them (while they last) at Kendra Scott's stores.
