To update the rails for functionality, you can add an 'S' shaped hook to the rails to hang the pots from. Like Kendall, you can choose copper pots to add a country kitchen look to the railing. Hammered copper pots could also be good for adding interesting texture. Alternatively, chrome silver pots would create a more modern look.
