WE’RE all used to the Tories coming out with statements that might shock us, but even this seems like a new level from Kemi Badenoch.
Remember when Rishi Sunak reduced us all to tears because he didn’t have access to Sky TV growing up?
Well prepare yourself for what Tory leadership contender Kemi Badenoch has come out with during an interview with GB News as she described her experience working in McDonald’s.

“It was the first time I’d interacted properly with people who didn’t come from the sort of background that I came from,” she said.
“You know I grew up in a middle-class family but I became working-class when I was 16 working in McDonald’s.
“And just understanding how many people there were single parents and they were working there to make ends meet.”
It really does beggar belief doesn’t it?
She added: “There’s a humility there as well, you had to wash toilets, there were no special cleaners coming in.”
The people of Twitter/X certainly seemed to be shocked by Badenoch’s statement as well with LBC’s James O’Brien commenting: “In 1988, on holiday from public school, I spent two weeks working on a building site in Doncaster.

Elsewhere, Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh said: "I was a council scheme boy but I became upper class when I started shoplifting at Harrods. It just takes enterprise."
Another described her comments as “completely bonkers” while a third user simply said it was “very weird”.
Let’s not laugh too much though because remember … Badenoch could soon find herself as the leader of the Conservatives.
