Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has NOT been called up to the Jamaica squad for their World Cup qualifiers and is available to face Celtic.
And that means neither club will hit the triple absentee mark required to call off the fixture.
The Reggae Boyz have finally announced their 23-man selection for upcoming clashes against Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica, the first taking place in the early hours of Friday morning.
It adds UK-based players to the domestic-based squad that took on Peru in a friendly earlier this week.
But crucially Ibrox striker Roofe, who has just returned from an injury he sustained while on international duty, is not included.
Instead Roofe will remain in Glasgow and ready for Premiership fixtures against Livingston, Ross County and arch-rivals Celtic.
It spares Rangers a further blow after star frontman Alfredo Morelos was picked by Colombia - while the club must wait and see how Joe Aribo and Nigeria progress at the Africa Cup of Nations.
But with Roofe they have clarity as the Jamaican Football Federation have opted to leave him in Scotland given recent injury struggles and a lack of match fitness.
