Giovanni van Bronckhorst says he hopes a return to action for Rangers striker Kemar Roofe isn't too far off in the distance.
The Jamaican international is yet to feature this season, with his last competitive appearance for van Bronckhorst's side coming in a brief cameo during May's Europa League final loss against Eintracht Frankfurt. He is on the way back now though and Rangers' manager has confirmed that the former Anderlecht star has taken part in some sessions.
His team travel to Hearts upon their return to Premiership action on Saturday and while previewing the Gorgie clash, van Bronckhorst explained the situation surrounding Roofe.

He said of the forward: "Kemar Roofe is training parts of the training sessions now so we need to keep assessing him and see when he is back. Hopefully that is sooner rather than later – both for Kemar and me as a coach."

Of the Jambos match, he added: "We have no new injuries. The players who came back from the international games are all fit to feature.
"Tom [Lawrence] is still not available for tomorrow’s game. We can just focus on winning our games. We have to continue with that.
"We have a big game tomorrow against Hearts. We want to continue the run of winning in the league. Hearts always give us a tough game."
