Kemar Roofe Rangers 'big question mark' raised by pundit as he admits 'I feel sorry for him'

Alan Hutton has opened up on the big question mark surrounding Kemar Roofe as he admitted: 'I genuinely feel for him'.

The Rangers attacker has been plagued by injuries this campaign with the 30-year-old only managing six appearances in all competitions this term. Michael Beale spoke back in January over the 'big hole' for the former Anderlecht man to come back from injury and fill but he suffered a fresh setback and has yet to return.

He's spent a couple of weeks out in Qatar working hard behind the scenes as he bids to get himself fit and firing ahead of the big Rangers rebuild coming this summer. He even took in the win over Celtic with a group of Light Blues fans and he will be hoping next time around he will be playing a key role on the park.

Former Ibrox defender and pundit Hutton is a huge fan and reckons he has been a miss at parts of the season but concedes the main question mark is whether he can stay fit or not. If he can, then he knows Roofe has plenty to offer Beale's side.

He told Football Insider: “I feel sorry for him, I do believe he is a really good player.

“I think he has probably been a miss for Rangers at certain parts of the season, especially with the likes of [Antonio] Colak injured and [Alfredo] Morelos not hitting the heights we would want.

“The big question mark is can he stay fit? It has been a problem. I genuinely feel for him, I have met him a couple of times and spoken to him about it and you could tell he was devastated.

“If he can’t stay to the level he might have to look elsewhere but where is he going to go if he can’t show that consistency? I do believe he has got a lot to offer if he can stay fit.“
