Kemar Roofe in Rangers return amid game time pledge as Alex Lowry comeback takes next step

Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has revealed Kemar Roofe and Alex Lowry are back among the fold ahead of manic run of fixtures.

And the Jamaica international striker is line to feature for the first time this season off the bench in Wednesday's Premier Sports Cup clash with Dundee at Ibrox. And there's more good news for Lowry. The 19-year-old will star for the club's B Team on Tuesday before pushing for a return to the first team.

Roofe's return is timely amid the mounting injury concerns and is set to make his first appearance since the Scottish Cup semi final in April. Speaking ahead of the clash with the Dee, the Dutchman said: " Roofe is in the squad for tomorrow, he is ready for minutes which we will try to give him. Lowry is playing today with the B-Team to give him minutes, he is close to a return to play with the first-team.

And the Rangers boss admits he is witnessing Malik Tillman evolving his playing style in the wake of Bayern Munich loanee's solo stunner to help sink the Steelmen on Sunday. He added: "I can see a difference in Tillman's play recently, a really good goal and he is developing a lot defensively, it is now a case of continuing his improvement.

Meanwhile, Van Bronckhorst insists changes are coming against Gary Bowyer's men, however, he concedes he won't be able to completely revamp his squad amid a bulging injury list.

He said: "We will rotate the squad tomorrow, we need to find a balance in the load for the players with a small squad at the moment with injuries. We need to be smart."
