Kemar Roofe breaks Rangers injury silence as he admits 'football gods are testing me again'

Kemar Roofe has broken his silence over his latest Rangers injury concern.

The Light Blues hitman returned to action after an extended period out in the Tannadice win over Dundee United before becoming the Hampden hero against Aberdeen with his extra-time winner securing a spot in the League Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden next month.

Michael Beale has already spoken about the 'big hole' he has left in his Rangers side for the returning attacker, who is set for a key role in the new management regime but he suffered an awkward fall yesterday during the additional 30 minutes that forced him off. He has suffered a series of bad luck with injuries and declared 'the footballing gods are testing me again' as he opened up on his latest injury blow. He wrote on Instagram: "Buzzing to be going to another final but the footballing gods are testing me again! Just another hurdle to get over and improve."

Roofe is set for a scan today to discover the extend of the injury he suffered at the national stadium.

Speaking post-match, Beale said: “Delighted we had Kemar available to go on the pitch but we’re disappointed he’s had to come off injured. That’s what he can give you – he’s a match winner.

“We won’t know until we a scan tomorrow so it’s a pretty heavy landing on his shoulder – its not a dislocation so we have to hope for the best. With Antonio [Colak] being out and Kemar just coming back we can’t catch a break at the moment."
