Kelvingrove organ recitals return this week and here's when you can catch one

It feels like forever since we heard the glorious sound of the Kelvingrove organ pipes - but the wait is almost over.

The daily organ recitals will officially be returning to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from tomorrow.

The first note will be played at 1pm on Friday, March 11, and will be back to their usual daily programme every day from then on, except on Sundays when the recital will begin at 3pm.

The performance is the longest-running free daily organ recitals in the world and welcomes local and international musicians.

The famous organ, which contains nearly 3,000 pipes, was originally commissioned as part of the Glasgow International Exhibition in 1901 before being moved to the popular attraction where it's become a central feature.

Visitors have been known to flock to the attraction especially to enjoy one of the recitals and we can't wait to see everyone back under its watchful gaze.
