KEVIN THOMSON has resigned as manager of Kelty Hearts.
The League Two champions have this afternoon confirmed that the former Rangers and Hibs ace has stood down from his position.
The rookie boss took charge of Kelty just one-year-ago, as he replaced Barry Ferguson after he won the New Central Park side promotion into the SPFL.
It was another hugely successful year for the former Lowland League outfit, as they strolled to League Two glory, gaining a second successive promotion - with the team set for League One football in the campaign ahead.
However, despite that instant bounce at the Fife club, Thomson has opted to resign from the job, as he aims to further his career elsewhere.

He has been in the running for the vacant Dundee job, and was offered the hotseat at Raith Rovers last month, but a deal could not be struck.
Thomson was also close to earning the Kilmarnock gig earlier this year, however, he was pipped by Derek McInnes.
A club statement from Kelty reads: "Manager, Kevin Thomson, and Assistant Manager, Kevin McDonald, have today tendered their resignations which have been accepted by the club board.
"Over recent weeks it became apparent that Kevin’s aspirations lay away from Kelty Hearts Football Club.
"We would like to thank them both for their efforts whilst with the club. This resulted in our promotion to cinch League 1, winning the league by 21 points and reaching the 5th round of the Scottish Cup for the first time in our history.
"We would like to wish Kevin Thomson and Kevin McDonald all the very best in their careers going forward.
"The club have begun the process of identifying a new management team, we will update further as the situation develops."
