Kelsey Parker ‘can’t listen’ to The Wanted songs following her husband Tom’s tragic death

Kelsey Parker opens up about what life has been like since the death of her husband, The Wanted's Tom Parker. The singer died earlier this year aged 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020.

In new ITVX documentary series, Kelsey Parker: Life After Tom, the 32-year-old widow discusses how life has changed for her and her two children. In emotional scenes, Kelsey describes how she can no longer listen to The Wanted's music, despite calling her late husband's voice "unreal".

She reveals: "I can't even listen to The Wanted songs. I can't do it and the kids want to play Glad You Came all the time and I go, 'No, Glad You Came is banned'." Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes were in the band with Tom.

Going into more detail, Kelsey explains: "Tom was the most amazing singer and I used to love listening to him. I find it so hard now when I actually find his music.

"He was such a talented man and he would sit in his studio for hours on end, playing the same bit of music, the same eight bars on repeat and it used to drive me absolutely crazy," she says before adding: "I would give anything to listen to him in that studio one last time."

The six-part documentary series, the first episode of which is now streaming, explores how Kelsey has been rebuilding her life without Tom. According to ITV, the series is "an unflinching look at the reality of bereavement, that confronts death with compassion, empathy, emotional frankness and some humour".
