Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are set to co-host Live's annual After the Oscars Show from the Dolby Theatre stage in Los Angeles on Monday. The show, a tradition to celebrate the Academy Awards, will feature the couple hosting their New York City-based daytime talk show in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
The episode will kick off with a taped package where Ripa and Consuelos parody various movies, including iconic films like There's Something About Mary, Basic Instinct, A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, Dirty Dancing, and a nod to the blockbuster Barbie movie. The couple expressed their enjoyment in creating these movie parodies, with Consuelos highlighting the fun of living out big-screen fantasies and sharing laughs over beloved films.
The show will also feature musician Andy Grammer performing a medley of songs, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco offering his comedic take on the night, and Project Runway's Elaine Welteroth discussing Oscars fashion. Additionally, The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer will serve as the red carpet correspondent for Live.
One of the highlights of the After the Oscars episode is the backstage interviews with winners at the Dolby Theatre. Ripa and Consuelos will engage with the freshly crowned champions in intimate settings, capturing candid moments with the elated stars.
Consuelos, who was announced as Live's permanent co-host last year, will be celebrating his one-year anniversary in the role alongside Ripa. The show has seen a surge in energy since his arrival, with segments like 'Stump Mark' becoming a fan favorite.
Ripa expressed her pride in Consuelos's seamless transition into the co-host role and emphasized the familial atmosphere on set. She highlighted the camaraderie among the crew and the respect Consuelos shows to everyone, making Live a special place for both of them.
