Kelly Clarkson has spoken about the pain she experienced going through her divorce as she releases two new singles from her upcoming album.
The talk show host told fans that she took pen to paper as she waded through the depths of heartbreak and from that came her tracks "Me" and "Mine".
Kelly, 40, split from Brandon Blackstock in 2020 after the pair had been married for nearly seven years.
They share a daughter River Rose, eight, and a son Remington Alexander Blackstock, seven.
Their divorce was far from simple, they spent years fighting over finances and custody of their children.
Kelly secured primary custody and had to pay Brandon $1.3 million in Divorce Settlement.
Sharing the album art on Instagram, she wrote: "Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling. It’s like you have no choice in the matter.
"You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down," she explained.
"We decided to release "mine" and "me" at the same time because I didn’t want to release just one song to represent an entire album or relationship. There are many stages of grief and loss on this album."
The album art was three versions of her wearing a black and nude dress, with ruffles.
Her long blonde hair fell over her shoulders and she framed her eyes with her signature smokey look.
Side A of the album is comprised of seven tracks: 1. Skip This Part, 2. Mine, 3. High Road, 4. Me, 5. Down to You, 6. Chemistry, 7. Favorite Kind of High.
In another post, she also released the poignant lyrics to both songs, with 'Me' detailing her process of getting over heartbreak.
Her lyrics in the song "Me" delved into her healing process after the split.
She sang: "Lovеd you so much, took an army to pull me up/ But now on the other side, I remembered I could fly/ I told you I wanted you/ But you needed me to need you/ Your insecurity was the death of you and me."
