Boxing champ Kellie Harrington has joined forces with the DSPCA as part of a major fundraising drive.
The Dublin native recently lent her support to the upcoming 'Pups in the Park' which will take place in Marlay Park on September 10 and 11. She said: "Animal welfare is something that I am very passionate about and it really is an honour to support today’s charity announcement.
“I would ask fellow dog lovers to get behind this great event to help raise much needed funds for the DSPCA. Pups in the Park is the perfect opportunity to get out and make some special memories with precious four-legged family members," Kellie added.

This year the festival is expecting 10,000 visitors across the weekend and will feature events including The Regatta Great Dog Walk, the Crave Obedience Ring and the Chin-Wag Talk Stage, where dog owners can learn tips and tricks.
Suzanne McGovern, of the DSPCA said: “We are delighted to be returning as the official charity partner of ‘Pups in the Park’. The festival has an exciting line-up of events which will not only promote the work of the charity but also help to raise vital funds as part of a great day out."
Ailish Durkin of Leader Dog Food added, “We are delighted to be returning as the title sponsor to help promote and raise awareness of the important work of the DSPCA”. Once again, the event will host an exciting line up of doggie inspired activities for owners and dogs to enjoy.
New to the show and in a further commitment to the charity, the DSPCA will host a fun Dog Show & Sniffari as well as an Adoption Parade in the Leader Main Arena which will be hosted by pop singer and self-confessed dog lover Jake Carter, giving potential ‘pawrents’ the chance to meet some of the dogs in the charity’s care that are in search of their forever homes. The event will also provide an exciting opportunity for previous rescues and their owners to meet up and reunite with DSPCA staff during the Rescue Reunions which will take place each day.
Experts including well-known TV veterinary expert, Peter Wedderburn, Rob Walshe “The Irish Dogfather”, Bobby Ortiz “Dogtor Bob”, and many more will also be on hand to share their expert advice in dog training and care. For any hungry humans, there will be some delicious dining options to feast on including Griolladh, All Bar Chicken, The Crepe Box and El Milagro, while the four-legged attendees can have a nibble and natter over a doggy snack from vendors including Happy Tails, Bon a Pet Treats, and Park Life.
There will also be more than 50 exhibitors in the retail village, including Mozy & Co and Pretty Paws, ready to kit the canines out in some super stylish attire for their big day out. For further information or to purchase tickets visit pupsinthepark.ie
